Huawei’s OceanStor A310 system is expected to power Nvidia GPUs at a speed almost four times faster than IBM’s ESS 3500. The system is designed for AI applications and aims to improve the efficiency of AI model training. It features a 5RU enclosure with up to 96 NVMe SSDs, processors, and memory cache. The A310 can deliver high sequential read bandwidth, write bandwidth, and random read IOPS. It uses SmartNICs with TCP offload and a parallel design. The system is set to ship in 2024.
