Game developer Activision is using artificial intelligence to moderate voice chats in its Call of Duty franchise. The new ToxMod feature, developed in collaboration with AI startup Modulate, uses AI to identify and take action against toxic speech in real time. Activision’s existing filtering tools have already made a positive impact in curbing abusive speech, with over 1 million accounts restricted since the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The new AI feature will expand globally on November 10 with the launch of Modern Warfare III. Players are still encouraged to report disruptive behavior.
