Baidu has announced the launch of its AI-powered chatbot, Ernie Bot, to the public, becoming the first Chinese company to do so. Encouraged by ChatGPT’s capabilities, other Chinese tech companies are also developing their own large language models and chatbots. However, these services were previously limited to selected users and enterprise clients due to licensing requirements. Baidu’s Ernie Bot is integrated into various platforms, from cloud computing to smart speakers, aiming to boost businesses with this new technology.
